If you are delinquent in your house payments, you may have several options to avoid foreclosure including forebearance, loan modification, chapter 13, and others. Watch the video by the U.S. Dept of Treasury Making Home Affordable program, for some general information. If you qualify and if there is time, a loan modification may be your best bet.

But if you don't qualify for the program, or if your loan modification application was denied, or there just isn't time, it may be necessary to file chapter 13 bankruptcy to stop your foreclosure. Then, you can cure the delinquency on your mortgage over a 3 to 5 year period of time, while under court protection. Call our office anytime, for an appointment or for more information.
